Unveiled: The Reasons Behind Man City’s Decision to Transfer Cole Palmer to Chelsea in the Recent Summer.

According to reports, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believed that Oscar Bobb had greater potential than Cole Palmer, which led to Palmer’s transfer to Chelsea during the recent summer window. Palmer, who represented England at the U21 level and even captained them in October, made the move to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s €47 million offer was accepted by Guardiola’s team.

Since joining Chelsea, Palmer has made a strong start, registering one goal and two assists in just three appearances. While he had a limited role at Manchester City, he has quickly become an important player for Chelsea under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

Guardiola’s decision to let Palmer go was influenced by the rise of Norwegian talent Oscar Bobb, as reported by The Daily Star. Guardiola believed that Bobb had a higher potential. Bobb, a 20-year-old, received City’s Academy Player of the Year award for two consecutive seasons and is now a full member of the first-team squad.

Similar to how Phil Foden and Palmer were gradually integrated into the senior side, Bobb has not been rushed into first-team action by Guardiola, accumulating just 141 minutes in all competitions this season. Nevertheless, Manchester City intends to offer him a contract extension despite his current deal having two years remaining. This new deal is expected to run until 2029 and will include a significant increase in Bobb’s weekly wages to £36,000, as reported.
