Agent of Victor Osimhen warns of potential legal action against Napoli following a social media post.

Roberto Calenda, the agent of Victor Osimhen, has issued a warning of potential legal action against Napoli following the club’s social media post that ridiculed the striker.

Napoli had posted a video on their TikTok account, which featured Osimhen missing a penalty against Bologna, accompanied by a high-pitched voice saying ”gimme penalty please.” This post has since been removed.

Calenda expressed his concerns on the matter, stating, “We retain the right to take legal action and explore all available options to safeguard Victor.” He continued, “The incident that occurred today on Napoli’s official TikTok platform is unacceptable. Initially, a video mocking Victor was published, and although it has now been deleted, it remains a serious incident that has caused substantial harm to the player. This incident compounds the challenges that the player has faced recently, including media scrutiny and the spread of false information.”

Recently, Osimhen was observed questioning manager Rudi Garcia when he was substituted in the 86th minute of a goalless draw against Bologna.

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian international, joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a club-record fee of 81.3 million euros. He played a pivotal role in helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league matches. The 24-year-old striker, who was heavily linked with Chelsea and Manchester United during the summer transfer window, has netted three goals in six appearances in the current campaign.
