Brentford became the first-ever team to win on their first three visits to Stamford Bridge with a 2-0 victory at Chelsea in the Premier League.

Becoming the first team ever to secure victories in their initial three visits to Stamford Bridge, they clinched a 2-0 win against Chelsea in the Premier League.

In the first half, Chelsea dominated proceedings, with Noni Madueke’s curling attempt hitting the crossbar around the 10-minute mark. Cole Palmer orchestrated the play from a central attacking midfield position, providing a cross for Marc Cucurella, who, despite never having scored for the Blues, saw his tame shot comfortably saved by Mark Flekken. Palmer then created an opportunity for Raheem Sterling, who unfortunately sent his shot over the bar. Bryan Mbeumo had Brentford’s best chance in the first half, with his cross-shot saved by Robert Sánchez.

The second half began with an unusual incident involving Neal Maupay, who, as a substitute, received a booking for entering the pitch and kicking the ball away just before Palmer was about to take a free-kick. Shortly afterward, Brentford took the lead as Mbeumo’s cross found Ethan Pinnock at the back post, heading in his first goal of the season. Late in the game, Chelsea’s assistant manager Jesús Pérez was sent off, and the Bees almost doubled their lead on the counter-attack, with Sánchez making a crucial save before Mbeumo’s subsequent shot went wide.

In the dying moments of stoppage time, Sánchez went up for a corner and couldn’t return in time, allowing Mbeumo to tap the ball into an empty net. The disappointing defeat means Chelsea has won only one of their last 13 Premier League home games. Meanwhile, Thomas Frank’s Brentford moved into the top half of the table, securing back-to-back victories following a six-match winless league run.
