Chelsea considers a potential transfer for a tall 6ft 6in Charlton Athletic striker who turned down a move to the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old, standing at 6ft 6in tall, has contributed to seven goals in 10 matches this season for Charlton Athletic in various competitions. Leaburn’s outstanding performance at his young age has drawn the attention of major clubs. Chelsea could face competition from Brentford, another Premier League team, in their pursuit of the Englishman, as reported by the Daily Mail.

This isn’t the first time that Leaburn has been linked with a potential transfer. Aston Villa reportedly expressed interest in him towards the end of the previous season. During the summer, Charlton also turned down an offer of more than £3 million from an unnamed Bundesliga club.

Leaburn is no stranger to Chelsea, having been a part of their academy before he moved to Charlton four years ago. Chelsea’s interest in Leaburn has arisen following a recent development where co-owner Todd Boehly granted head coach Mauricio Pochettino more influence over transfers. Pochettino is eager to bring in a new striker, with Ivan Toney believed to be the top target, amid reports suggesting that he has reservations about Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.

Chelsea has a history of recruiting talent from League One clubs, having acquired Mason Burstow from Charlton in 2022. Charlton currently sits in 13th place in the third tier of English football after 13 games into the season, with five wins, five losses, and three draws.”
