Chilwell Expected to Be Out for an Extended Period Following Hamstring Injury During Chelsea’s Victory Against Brighton.

Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has officially stated that Ben Chilwell sustained a hamstring injury in their 1-0 triumph over Brighton and Hove Albion during the Third Round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. As a result, the left-back may face an extended period of absence from the team.

As reported by the Daily Mail and cited sportsviewpoint, Mauricio Pochettino has remarked that it seems Ben Chilwell, who was replaced towards the end of last night’s match, has exacerbated the two hamstring injuries he has been recovering from. Chelsea exhausted all of their available substitutions and concluded the game with just ten players.

It’s worth noting that the West London club has already suffered several injuries to key first-team players, including Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku, both of whom were acquired during the summer transfer window Marcus Bettinelli, Reece James, Carney Chukwuemeka, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, and others are also receiving medical attention.
