Everton is pursuing a £4 million striker who is being compared to Mario Mandzukic with AC Milan.

Everton supporters are well aware of the team’s recent transfer missteps. Far too many players have entered the game in exchange for large salaries, consuming large salaries while contributing very little on the field.

Two great recent examples are Neal Maupay and Dele Alli. But recently, there have been one or two noteworthy commercial transactions.

Unquestionably, Amadou Onana has lived up to his price tag, and Dwight McNeil, who is now playing his best Everton season, has done the same.

There are isolated instances where the Toffees have successfully recruited; it’s now a matter of carrying it out more frequently.

A European prospect who can be signed for £4 million is connected to Everton.

The board can now start considering summer plans after surviving in the Premier League.

Transfer rumors have already started to surface; the most recent discussion is from Italy.

Sport Italia, an Italian website, reports that several teams are vying for Osijek attacker Anton Matković, including the Toffees.

The 2006-born Croatian forward has drawn interest from a number of Italian teams, including Atalanta and AC Milan.

Everton and Fulham, two Premier League teams, are keeping an eye on events, though.

Who is Anton Matkovic, the Everton target?

Matkovic is 191 centimeters tall and has already received caps for the Croatian under-19 national team, according to Sport Italia.

In addition, he has drawn comparisons to former Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic in his own Slovenia.

Mandzukic, who was renowned for his enormous heading power, gave Juventus a breathtaking overhead kick in the 2017 Champions League final in Cardiff.

It is thought that his countryman Matkovic is more adaptable. Mandzukic lacked the turn of pace and wide-ranging experience that the 18-year-old possesses.

It might be a wise move for the Goodison Park administration to bring in a younger player close to the top of the field.
