Ahead of the summer transfer window, Milliyet has reported today that Galatasaray is reportedly interested in Manchester United defender Raphael Varane.

When his contract expires in June, the France international may not stay at Old Trafford since, according to recent sources, the club will not initiate the activation cause to keep him in Manchester for an additional season.

Galatasaray has Varane as a possibility while they search for a potential Davinson Sánchez successor, per Milliyet. Due to the Colombian international’s impressive debut season at Gala, there have been rumors of him perhaps moving to Newcastle United or clubs in Serie A.

The Super Lig team has since focused on Varane, and Milliyet claims that signing the central defender will require a “huge operation.” A €40 million plus deal, according to Milliyet, might help Galatasaray sign the Manchester United player. This might be paid for by permanent departures like Nicolo Zaniolo and Wilfried Zaha this summer.
Varane left Real Madrid to join Manchester United in 2021, but injuries have plagued him during his stay in England. With just 21 Premier League appearances this season, it appears the Premier League club may have had enough of the Frenchman.

It is evident that Turkey is excited about the prospect of having a player like that in the Super Lig.
