Getafe’s vital midfielder ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

Getafe is once again facing misfortune with long-term injuries, as Mauro Arambarri recently underwent knee surgery. Last season, the Uruguayan midfielder played just 13 times due to an ankle problem, which also caused him to miss the World Cup and the rest of the season. In the current season, he has made only 7 appearances, but it appears unlikely that he will play again during this campaign.

Arambarri was substituted at halftime during a recent match, seemingly without any apparent injury, as per Cadena Cope. However, Getafe has since disclosed that Arambarri has sustained a partially torn meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament, which will keep him sidelined for 6-8 months.

The 28-year-old Uruguayan international was one of Jose Bordalas’ standout players during his initial tenure at the club. This injury leaves Getafe with only three natural central midfielders in Carles Alena, Nemanja Maksimovic, and Luis Milla, although Djene, Omar Alderete, Oscar Rodriguez, and Jose Angel Carmona have all previously filled in that role. Arambarri joins Enes Unal, who suffered an ACL injury in April last season, on the list of sidelined players.
