“Former Manchester United Player Jesse Lingard Rejects Transfer Speculation Following Unexpected FC Seoul Transfer Confirmation

“Jesse Lingard has secured a new club, signing with South Korean team FC Seoul. The former Manchester United player had been without a club since the summer, following his departure from Nottingham Forest.

“He will now compete in the South Korean top-flight after reportedly signing a two-year contract with FC Seoul.

Upon his arrival, the 31-year-old revealed that he turned down ‘multiple offers’ before opting for a fresh challenge in Asia.

“I’ve always desired a new challenge and the opportunity to create new memories in my career,” Lingard stated in a YouTube video. “I believe South Korea offers the perfect environment for that.”

Despite reports suggesting Lingard’s move to South Korea was driven by his off-field interests such as esports, fashion, and restaurant ventures, the former England international swiftly dismissed those speculations.

“I will focus solely on football; my personal business ventures have no connection to football. Football remains the most significant aspect for me,” Lingard clarified.

Lingard, who recently spent several months training with Saudi Pro League team Al-Ettifaq, emphasized that FC Seoul’s eagerness to secure his signature played a crucial role in his decision.

“FC Seoul demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm by presenting me with a tangible offer on paper, unlike other clubs that were merely reaching out verbally,” Lingard added. “Moreover, they went the extra mile by traveling to Manchester to assess my physical condition.
