This win propelled the Nerazzurri back to the top of Serie A, overtaking Juventus, who had claimed the summit 24 hours earlier. As for Roma, the result kept them in seventh place, outside the European qualification positions for now.
Inter Milan defeated Roma 1-0 in a match where they were made to put in a significant effort against the visitors, led by former manager Jose Mourinho. Hakan Calhanoglu hit the crossbar just six minutes into the game as Inter displayed dominance right from the start. However, for the following hour, that was the closest they came to scoring.
Nevertheless, Marcus Thuram managed to break the deadlock in the late stages of the match by expertly guiding a superb cross from Federico Dimarco into the net, relieving the tension and earning a crucial win for the home team.
