Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen believes that teaming up with Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is a strong combination for the German national team.

During this international break, one of the most captivating aspects for German national team enthusiasts has been observing whether the pairing of Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz can flourish on the field. These two immensely talented young players are arguably Germany’s top talents, and their potential partnership has piqued the interest of fans. Julian Nagelsmann, the coach, has shown a willingness to explore the possibilities of their synergy.

Wirtz is quite receptive to the idea, expressing, “We could certainly play well together centrally, and the coach would determine the formation. We’ll adapt to where we’re needed. What’s crucial is that we move intelligently within the spaces and make ourselves available to receive the ball. Naturally, both of us always want to play, but it’s Julian Nagelsmann who makes the decisions. Personally, I would like to line up alongside Jamal and myself.” He also commended Musiala’s skills, particularly his exceptional dribbling abilities and unique style.

Nevertheless, it’s important to note that Wirtz hasn’t indicated any desire to transfer to Bayern Munich. He emphasized, “We’re having a very successful season with Leverkusen at the moment, and I’m enjoying my time at the club. That’s why my focus is solely on Leverkusen. I still have a lengthy contract, so I don’t need to contemplate my future at this point.”

For now, Wirtz’s attention is clearly dedicated to both Leverkusen and the German national team. However, this doesn’t prevent fans from indulging in a bit of wishful thinking.
