Archie Gray has assumed yet another distinctive role, this time delivering a message to a beloved figure among Leeds United fans as a spokesperson for the supporters. Despite being just ten years old when right-back Luke Ayling joined Leeds from Bristol City in August 2016, Gray and Ayling became teammates this season following Gray’s impressive rise from the Academy to the first team at the age of 17.
Although Gray is naturally a central midfielder, he has recently been utilized as manager Daniel Farke’s primary right back. Meanwhile, Ayling has made a move to Middlesbrough in search of regular playing time, completing the loan transfer on Wednesday evening. Ayling, whose contract expires in the summer, has been with Leeds for seven and a half years, and a video featuring his former teammates paying tribute to the defender was released by Leeds after the move.
