PSG Preparing for a Final Bid to Retain Kylian Mbappe.

Paris Saint-Germain is maintaining its optimism regarding the possibility of persuading their star forward, Kylian Mbappe, to extend his stay at the club for a few more seasons. As per reports from French media, PSG is preparing to make a final effort to retain Mbappe by offering him an enhanced and revised contract.

Mbappe’s current contract is set to expire, making him a free agent in the summer of 2024. He had previously declined to sign an extension with PSG, a move widely interpreted as an indicator of his desire to leave the club. His refusal to commit to a new contract strained his relationship with the team, even resulting in his suspension from first-team training for a brief period in August. However, reports suggest that relations between the two parties have improved, and PSG is hopeful that Mbappe might reconsider his position.

The club is ready to propose an increase in Mbappe’s salary, along with the inclusion of a release clause in the prospective new contract. This clause would allow Mbappe to leave the club if he chooses to do so, while enabling PSG to recoup a portion of the €180 million they paid to acquire him in 2017.

Whether Mbappe is willing to stay in France remains to be seen. He will be eligible to negotiate with other clubs starting in January, and Real Madrid, the La Liga powerhouse, is considered the frontrunner to secure his services should he opt to depart PSG.

Despite PSG’s relatively slow start to the 2023-24 season, Mbappe has continued to be a prolific scorer, netting eight goals in nine matches across all competitions.
