“Vitor Roque discusses Raphinha, Araujo, Felix, Cancelo, Lewandowski, Xavi, and the new coach

“Winter recruit Vitor Roque has expressed confidence that Barcelona can maintain their challenge for the La Liga title this season by securing victories in their remaining matches.

In a comprehensive interview with Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian forward discussed various topics, such as his adjustment to life in Catalonia, teammates who have aided his transition, advice he’s received from Robert Lewandowski, and more.

The 18-year-old began by noting the contrasting styles of football between Brazil and Spain, emphasizing his efforts to adapt and bridge the gap.

“Barcelona boasts several South American talents in their squad, and Roque disclosed that he had conversations with players like Raphinha and Ronald Araujo prior to his arrival in Catalonia.

“[The club is] Even bigger. They always talked to me a little, but when I walked in here and saw everything, it was a dream. It is a dream come true,” remarked the 18-year-old.

He further mentioned that the presence of fellow Brazilians Raphinha and Araujo, as well as Portuguese players Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo, has been instrumental in his adaptation process.

“Raphinha, because he is also Brazilian, Araujo, Joao Felix, and Cancelo because they are Portuguese, are helping me a lot,” Roque explained.

With a diverse mix of experienced veterans like Lewandowski and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, alongside youngsters such as Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, the atmosphere in the Barcelona locker room is unique. Roque affirmed that his adaptation is progressing swiftly amidst this environment.
