Is Gavi Dealing with an Injury Too? Spain Manager Luis de la Fuente Provides an Update on the Barcelona Midfielder

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has eased concerns about Gavi’s injury status, alleviating worries that the Barcelona midfielder had joined the club’s growing list of injured players.

Gavi sustained a minor injury during a training session earlier this week, leading to speculation that he might be added to Barcelona’s injury woes. When asked about injuries within his squad on Wednesday, de la Fuente provided some reassuring news regarding his players’ fitness.

He stated, “All the players are available. Some are experiencing discomfort, and we will monitor their progress,” and continued, “We anticipate a challenging match. Our opponent is very strong and deserving of our respect. They will demand the best from us.”

De la Fuente also expressed his full support for Ansu Fati, who was called up to the squad as a late replacement for Yeremy Pino. Fati is currently on loan from Barcelona.

He remarked, “He is a player who is very content with our team. He feels at home. It’s a delight to see him here. He knows that he has the affection and backing of my entire coaching staff. I have confidence in his abilities and his style of play. You can see that he is content and as enthusiastic as he has always been.”

Spain is set to face Scotland on Thursday in Seville, with the Scots securing a 2-0 victory when the two teams last met in March.
