“Brentford opted not to finalize the transfer of Antonio Nusa during the winter transfer window, despite reaching an agreement with Club Brugge. The decision stemmed from concerns regarding the player’s medical condition.

Recent reports from Het Nieuwsblad indicate that Brentford have engaged in thorough discussions with the medical teams from both Club Brugge and the Norway national team. However, it’s noted that Thomas Frank’s team has yet to reach a final verdict.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Brentford still harbor apprehensions about the 18-year-old’s knee.

“At the same time, the report also asserts that the Premier League side’s concerns are claimed to be baseless. This is because the growth injury experienced by the Norwegian international is deemed to have minimal impact on his future, as indicated by further medical research conducted in his home country. This perspective is at least held by the Jupiler Pro League side.

Club Brugge’s previously agreed €37m deal with Brentford remains valid, and it remains uncertain whether the latter will alter their stance following the new medical findings. The recent revelations from Norway should come as a relief to Nusa, who experienced psychological distress after his prospective move to Brentford fell through. Consequently, he did not participate in Club Brugge’s last three matches, with plans for his return against Eupen this weekend.

Today’s Gazet van Antwerpen also reports that the latest scans, carried out in collaboration with Norwegian medical professionals, have confirmed that Nusa can play without any reservations both now and in the future. The newspaper further asserts that Nusa is deemed medically fit and his career is not under threat.

Thomas Frank’s side now faces a decision regarding whether to proceed with the deal in the upcoming summer.
