Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham United Monitoring Ousmane Dembele’s Status

Three London clubs are closely monitoring Ousmane Dembele’s situation amid rumors that PSG might consider selling him in January. Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham United are among the teams keeping a watchful eye on the World Cup winner. Speculation in the media suggests that PSG could be open to selling Dembele if his form continues to decline since his move from Barcelona.

Despite being regarded as one of Europe’s top attacking talents, Ousmane Dembele has faced challenges in his career. Following a high-profile transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar, his progress was hampered by persistent injury problems. He made only 185 appearances in all competitions during his six-and-a-half-year spell at Barcelona. PSG capitalized on a reported release clause in his contract to secure his transfer to Paris, allowing Dembele to join France teammates Kylian Mbappe and Randal Kolo Muani.

The prospect of this trio, alongside Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos, makes PSG’s attack one of the most formidable in Europe. However, from a media perspective, Dembele has yet to prove his worth despite playing five games. The World Cup winner has yet to score or provide an assist since his £50 million move. Media reports are already suggesting that PSG might be exploring options. Luis Enrique, however, has expressed satisfaction with Dembele’s performances, stating that he would pay to watch him play.

Enrique said, “If I were a supporter of a team, I would pay to see Ousmane Dembele. He’s a totally different player. He is unpredictable, overflows, [and] works magic. It’s true that he may have missed things and didn’t score his first goal, but the day that happens, I’m sure he’ll score a lot later. This happens to all attackers. It’s wonderful for a coach to have a player of this quality and level available.”

Nonetheless, media reports have linked Dembele with a move to one of the top North London clubs. According to the report, Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham United are monitoring the World Cup winner’s situation and could make a move in January if he becomes available.

Arsenal is still in the market for a wide attacker to provide cover for Bukayo Saka. Dembele would be an attractive addition, but he may not accept a secondary role behind Saka or Gabriel Martinelli.

Similarly, joining West Ham United, who are showing signs of progress, may not align with Dembele’s desire to compete at the highest levels, particularly in the Champions League.

Tottenham recently signed Brennan Johnson to fill a void in their attacking options following Harry Kane’s departure. However, if the conditions are right, Spurs could become an option for Dembele, especially if they secure a Champions League spot next season.

As things currently stand, PSG may not be eager to part with Dembele so soon after his arrival. He is adapting to a new league and environment, and after an injury-plagued period at Barcelona, he might be looking to regain his best form and contribute productively to the Parisian club.
