“Jurgen Klopp Confirms Injured Thiago Alcantara Will Return to Action for Liverpool This Season

“Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp affirmed that Thiago Alcantara would make a return to the field this season, although he remained uncertain about the fitness of midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai for the upcoming Carabao Cup final.

Thiago sustained an injury after his first 10 minutes of play for the season during Sunday’s loss against Arsenal, while Szoboszlai is sidelined due to aggravating a hamstring issue that kept him out for most of January.

With Mohamed Salah still possibly two weeks away from resuming training due to a hamstring injury, Ibrahima Konate serving a suspension, and flu affecting the squad – Joe Gomez did not train on Thursday – Klopp humorously threatened to evict anyone from the room who suggested that he had a luxury of options at his disposal.

“Two or three weeks ago, we were sitting here discussing the ‘luxury problem’ of player selection. If anyone dares to ask me that question again, I’ll kick them out of the room,” Klopp stated ahead of Saturday’s match against Burnley.
